Application Requirements
Quest for Education and Arts offers two opportunities for students to be involved in an honor society. Eta Sigma Alpha National Home School Honor Society and the Quest Honor Society. Please review the requirements below for each one:
For Admission to Eta Sigma Alpha National Homeschool Honor Society:
Student must be a homeschooled student meeting the 50% rule as noted by HSLDA.
The application may be submitted in the summer after the student’s 5th grade year through October of his/her 12th grade year, for membership during his/her 6th – 12th grade years.
Applicant must have a 3.5 grade point average on a 4-point scale and must supply a transcript with his/her application.
Applicant must provide proof of test scores from one of the following tests:
A test score of 88 (CLT), 97 (CLT 10), 97 (CLT 8); 1200 (SAT), 1200 (PSAT), 1170(PSAT 10), 1090 (PSAT 8/9 for a 9th grade student), 1020 (PSAT 8/9 for an 8th grade student); 26 (ACT), 26 (Pre-ACT 10); 23 (Pre-ACT 8/9) a 90% composite score on the Iowa ITBS or ITED); 90% on the total battery (the score listed under the National PR-S or PR column) on the Stanford; or 90% total score (listed under the NPR column) on the Terra Nova 2 (CAT 6) 2nd Edition nationally normed standardized achievement tests is required for ESA membership. When taking the Iowa ITBS, Iowa ITED, Stanford or Terra Nova 2 (CAT 6) the complete battery including science, social studies, language arts, spelling, reading, mathematics, and vocabulary must be taken. We do not accept the basic battery or core battery for admission. The test score must come from one test. Section scores from different tests may not be combined to achieve the required test score for membership. Although some college scholarship applications accept super scoring, we do not.
All test scores must be administered by someone other than the parent. Students must present a letter from the test administrator for all tests except CLT/SAT/PSAT/ACT.
Applicant must submit a short statement about why he/she would like to be a member of Eta Sigma Alpha Honor Society.
Applicant’s parents must submit a letter of recommendation for their student/child.
Applicant must submit letters from two additional references.
Applicant must complete and submit an application form.
For Admission to Quest Honor Society:
Student must be nominated by a member of the Quest faculty.
Student must be a homeschooled student meeting the 50% rule as noted by HSLDA.
The application may be submitted in the summer after the student’s 5th grade year through October of his/her 12th grade year, for membership during his/her 6th – 12th grade years.
Applicant must have a 3.5 grade point average on a 4-point scale and must supply a transcript with his/her application.
Applicant is NOT required to submit standardized test scores. Once accepted the applicant may choose to submit a qualifying test score at any time in order to be promoted into the Eta Sigma Alpha National Honor Society.
Applicant must submit a short statement about why he/she would like to be a member of the Quest Honor Society.
Applicant’s parents must submit a letter of recommendation for their student/child.
Applicant must submit letters from two additional references.
Applicant must complete and submit an application form.
